Health Services

All students at Howard University are required to enroll in a comprehensive health care program that provides protection against certain medical expenses. The insurance covers you for medical expenses that result from accidents occurring or sickness commencing during the period of coverage. Student health insurance is supplementary and is not intended to replace any existing health insurance you may have. Student insurance coverage applies 24 hours a day and 12 months a year, subject to conditions of the policy.

Except in cases of extreme emergency, students must report to the Howard University Student Health Center before using other health care facilities in order for the insurance benefits to be available. Current registration and identification cards are required for service eligibility.
