Transfer Students Application and Information
Application Deadlines:
For Spring - December 1
For Fall - July 15
Each academic year a limited number of spaces are available to students seeking to transfer from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA), are in good academic standing, and have at least a 3.0 law school grade point average and have completed the first full year law school. A student may transfer a maximum of 30 credit hours toward the Howard law degree. Course evaluation for transfer credit will take place prior to registration but not during the admissions process.
Transfer applicants are evaluated based on the following criteria: LSAT score(s), Cumulative GPA (undergraduate), first year law school GPA and class rank, the law school transcript, letter of good standing from transferring law school, a letter from a Legal Writing Professor, and the reasons for seeking a transfer to HUSL.
A decision will not be made on a student's file until all grades from the last semester attended have been submitted to LSAC.
