Biography

Professor Keeva Terry is a Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law, where she teaches wills, trusts, and estates; federal income taxation; and contracts. She is an accomplished business and legal professional with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and public service. Professor Terry has been voted Professor of the Year on multiple occasions and was also the 2021 recipient of the prestigious Warren S. Rosmarin Award for Excellence in Teaching and Service.

Professor Terry examines systemic disparities in federal income taxation, personal finance, and wealth preservation in her scholarship and service. Using an interdisciplinary approach, she focuses on the development of legal solutions to address these disparities. Her articles have been published and cited in several nationally recognized law reviews.

Prior to her career in academia, Professor Terry worked as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, drafting merger and acquisition agreements and negotiating deal structures, and as a tax consultant at Ernst & Young, advising public and private companies on strategic tax planning.

Professor Terry earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, her M.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, and her law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
