Professor Peterman is a social entrepreneur on a mission to leverage her global experience in the conflict resolution and legal industries to teach people how to listen, negotiate and resolve everyday situations in the workplace and beyond. Damali is the Founder and CEO of two successful, award-winning companies– Breakthrough ADR and Damali Law. Breakthrough ADR specializes in innovative and engaging ways to help individuals, companies, government agencies and educational institutions prevent, manage and resolve conflict through 3 services: mediation, training and consulting and 4 products: podcast (Breakthrough Barriers with Damali), blog (What Would Damali Do), webinars (www.youtube.com) and book (coming soon!). Damali Law is a boutique law firm that represents individuals and businesses on a full range of corporate and transactional matters including contract negotiation, business formation, reorganization and dissolution.

Damali trains organizations such as Google, MasterCard, and the New York Police Department with tailored workshops aimed at increasing overall company efficiency and talent retention. Globally recognized as a conflict resolution expert, Damali has been featured on NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, In Touch Weekly, MadameNoire, CEOWorld, Daily Mail, New York Post and more. Throughout her career, Damali has been committed to giving back and providing pro bono service to the community. Damali has also lectured at universities throughout the world and has led legal clinics for nonprofits, small businesses and entrepreneurs. Some of the nonprofit organizations that Damali has assisted include New York Peace Institute, Usher’s New Look, Kids in Need of Defense, International Refugee Assistance Project, Legal Aid Society, City Bar Justice Center, Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project, Autism Speaks, Covenant House, PENCIL, and Women’s Venture Fund. Damali has been invited to judge international mediation competitions in Austria, Australia, Germany, and India. Damali serves on the advisory board of the ADR Certificate Program for Howard University School of Law.

Damali completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program and is a Tory Burch Foundation Fellow. Damali was recently recognized as the “Social Change Agent of the Year” by the National Institute of Mentoring Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (NIMBLE). 

Damali is a graduate of Spelman College (BA), Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MA), and Howard University School of Law (JD).
