As CEO and founding partner of Altius Sports Partners, Casey is responsible for the oversight of the company and leads all partnerships, business development and operational strategy.
Prior to founding Altius Sports Partners, Casey was the vice president of business & legal affairs at the NFL Players Association, helping lead the commercial NIL program for all NFL players on a roster each season. In that role, he led negotiations on complex commercial transactions with sponsorship and licensing partners, including the NFL, Nike, Amazon, Fanatics, Visa, Electronic Arts and more. Casey frequently provided guidance to NFL players on all business matters and spoke on numerous stages in front of professional athletes on building their brands.
Before helping lead the for-profit side of the NFL union, he began his career in sports media at NFL Media and FOX Sports. In those roles, he negotiated media deals and managed intellectual property for large-scale events, including Super Bowl LI (the “28-3 game”).
A native of rural Wisconsin, Casey is a Wisconsin Badger undergrad and USC Trojan JD. He also proudly mentors dozens of young professionals. After teaching at the USC Gould School of Law in 2017, he now teaches at Howard Law School in Washington, D.C., where he and his wife Emilie reside.
