Howard Law 2019 Graduates Host Baccalaureate Ceremony

Howard University School of Law’s Class of 2019 recently held its Baccalaureate Ceremony. The student-run event is an annual tradition that marks a kickoff to graduation weekend. Graduating students, with their families and friends in attendance, used this time to honor each other and celebrate their classmates’ accomplishments.

Howard Law Dean Danielle Holley-Walker delivered opening remarks, charging all graduating students to do three things once they enter the legal profession: “Hold your family and friends close. …Stay in touch with your classmates. … Go forth in a spirit of gratitude.”

Caren Street (J.D. ’07), chief of staff, Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.), encouraged graduating students to “fight for what we’ve already achieved,” as they take the next steps in their legal careers.
